Parasailing is an exhilarating water sport that allows participants to experience the stunning beauty of the island from a unique aerial perspective. This activity involves being harnessed to a parachute while being towed behind a boat, allowing you to soar high above the turquoise waters and enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline, beaches, and surrounding islands.
The tour begins with a safety briefing provided by trained instructors who explain how the equipment works and what to expect during the flight. Participants are then fitted with safety gear, including a life jacket and harness. Once on the boat, you will be taken out into deeper waters where the parasailing takes place. As the boat accelerates, you will gradually ascend into the air, reaching heights of up to 150 meters (approximately 490 feet). From this vantage point, you can enjoy panoramic views of Zanzibar’s lush landscapes and vibrant marine life below. The experience is often described as peaceful yet thrilling, as you glide through the air with only the sound of wind around you.
Most parasailing tours last between 10 to 15 minutes in the air, but total tour time may vary depending on group size and other activities included. Safety is paramount; therefore, reputable operators ensure that all equipment is regularly inspected and maintained. Additionally, guides are trained in emergency procedures to ensure a safe experience for all participants.
